10-01-2009 - PrideSTAR continues its service to the film industry
Currently PrideSTAR EMS is providing stand-by ambulances all around the state for a new major motion picture being filmed here in Massachusetts. Our specially qualified crews respect the senstitivity and security required when working with principals and other cast and crew members. We understand the special needs that working on-set presents, and will fit seamlessly into your production crew.
9-12-2009 - Saints Fall Festival Cancer Walk
For the 3rd year in a row, PrideSTAR EMS was an event sponsor for the Saints Fall Festival Cancer Walk. PrideSTAR provided, and staffed, several water stations for the event. PrideSTAR also sponsored several walkers in the event, and provided first aid services.
07-25-2009 - Annual Ice Cream Day
In what has become an annual tradition, PrideSTAR EMS visited its contracted facilities with an ice cream truck. Ice cream was provided to staff and patients. David Daly, CEO, and Bryan Shanley, VP of Business Development served as ice cream truck specialists for the day. See you next year!
07-20-2009 - New Training
In an effort to streamline operations, and improve patient safety, PrideSTAR EMS recently sent 3 team members to Wilmington, Ohio to attend Ferno's Cot Care Maintenance and Repair Program. Sean Daly, Mike Tierney, and Matthew Libby all received certification to maintain and repair the services fleet of Ferno 35-A patient cots. The 3 day class covered all aspects of operation, maintenance, and repair.
6-15-2009 - New Fleet Addition
PrideSTAR EMS has placed in service our newest fleet addition. A21 is a AEV Traumahawk built on a Dodge Sprinter Chassis. This ambulance features the latest in patient and crew safety and comfort. It features side impact air bags, stability control, and a new restraint system that allows EMT's the mobility they need to treat patients, while still being able to remain restrained. Finally, this purchase also demonstrates our committment to the environment. This ambulance uses 30% LESS fuel per mile than traditional ambulances!5-15-2009 - PrideSTAR EMS had its annual OEMS state inspection.

Hey, my names Amanda, I'm 20, I've been with PrideStar for a little over 3 months and its been great! I've been an EMT for almost a year. I was born and raised in Lowell. Went to Lowell High Class of '07. I plan on doing this for a while, hopefully either nursing or paramedic school somewhere in the future, not rushing into anything to fast though. When I'm not working I'm usually with friends or family. I absolutly love the Red Sox and the Patriots! I've played softball since I was 4 years old. I want to thank everyone at PrideStar for welcoming me into "the family", everyones been so nice and helpfull. PrideSTAR EMS is proud to announce the hiring of Tony Palmisano to the position of Growth and Strategic Marketing Manager. Mr. Palmisano's responsibilities will include new business development as well as coordinating marketing campaigns. Tony has over fifteen years of experience in similar positions at local organizations. Before joining PrideSTAR, Mr. Palmisano was the Director of Development & Communications for the Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley. Prior to that, he was the Director of Marketing for the New England Patriots and Revolution.Tony is a graduate of Loyola College and received his MBA from Georgetown University. He is also the principal of Horizon Consulting. He resides in North Andover. PrideSTAR EMS is a locally owned and operated medical transportation service combining the latest advances in patient transportation and medical care with the tried and true traditions of compassion, service and integrity that have been the hallmark of the medical profession since its earliest days.

PrideSTAR continues to service the aero-medical and specialty care industry. Our expertise at interfacing with international aero-medical crews has made us a common sight on the tarmac. Additionally, our extended range ground transport teams have recently completed international trips as far away as Montreal, Canada.2-15-2009
As I was leaving work a few months back, I was approached by one of our EMT's, Dan Heffernan. Dan was in the process of washing his truck at the end of his shift when he was struck by an idea. Dan was wondering if we could "restripe" the side of the ambulance with a pink stripe and place a pink ribbon on the side of the truck. We would refer to it as our "Cancer Truck" with the intent of donating a portion of our profit, on every call this truck completed, to benefit local cancer patients. I told Dan I would think about it. I was just as impressed that an employee was thinking in this fashion, as I was with his idea. Dan had obviously taken to heart the fact that PrideSTAR is committed to giving back to the communities we serve. As I drove home that night, I was convinced that Dan had come up with an excellent way to assist local residents stricken with Cancer. We subsequently decided to "re-stripe" Ambulance 3 with a purple stripe and place purple ribbons around the truck along with the words "Fighting Cancer One Call at a Time". The color purple is the universal color of cancer.PrideSTAR is a family business. My brother Sean works as one of our field supervisors, and our father Edward, serves as our V.P of Marketing. Our mother Carole has served as the unofficial "President" of the PrideSTAR fan club. As a 45+ year pharmacist she has made known to every person she comes in contact with that "if they need medical transportation" that they "should call PrideSTAR". She has been a consummate supporter even after telling me that I was crazy to start this business in the first place. In a stroke of unfortunate irony, our mother, the rock of our family, was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer 3 weeks after we decided to indoctrinate our new cancer truck. She will be undergoing her treatment at Saints Medical Center. On Feb 3rd, we were able to cut our first check to the Saints Spindle Fund. The Spindle Fund goes directly to pateints suffering from cancer and provides funding for wigs, transportation, and other personal needs. In a few weeks, we will be giving a check to the Lowell General Cancer Center. This money will also go towards patients with similar needs. I would just like to take the time to thank Dan Heffernan for his idea, and to extend a prayer for all the patients in the Greater Lowell area battling this disease. We just want to let them know that we at PrideSTAR intend to help in that battle "One Call at a Time"

In line with PrideSTAR EMS's dedication to its employees and their professional development, we are pleased to announce that Operations Supervisor Michael Tierney has been selected as the recipient of the PrideSTAR EMS Professional Development Scholarship. Mike will be sponsored by PrideSTAR EMS in his participation in the New Hampshire Technical Insitute's Paramedic Degree Program. David Daly & Matthew Libby, PrideSTAR EMS co-founders, are both NHTI graduates.
